"Small hand-blown dish of opalescent glass, elongated and boat-shaped in plan, with a low foot and a shallow, gently curved body. The rim rises in a continuous undulating profile and is folded inward at each end to form scroll-like terminals. A slightly raised, domed area marks the center of the interior. The thin walls are translucent, showing a pale blue-grey tone against a white ground. Surfaces are smooth and hand-finished, with no applied, cut or painted decoration. Attributed to Murano, Venice, Italy. The piece is suited to display as a decorative dish."
