Colorless lead crystal bowl of lobed, petal-like form, with an undulating rim and a thick, solid base. The vessel is mould-blown and hand-finished, with smoothly polished surfaces and no applied or cut decoration. Its design relies on mass, transparency and the refraction of light through sculpted walls, a restrained approach characteristic of French mid-century crystal. Manufactured by Baccarat, Lorraine, France. Notable for its considerable weight and the quality of its crystal, the piece is suited to display as a table centerpiece or decorative object.
